What’s on Your Packing List for a Cruise?

The long-awaited day has finally arrived. After so many months of hard work you can start packing for your summer holiday. We always look forward to a well-deserved rest and change of scene.

Many of us are attracted by pristine beaches or active hiking in the woods, while some, on the other hand, like peaceful relaxation on a cruise.

Before leaving though you have to make sure that you have packed all the holiday essentials. Forgetting something can be very frustrating, especially when you’re so far from home.

Mix and Match

To make sure you always have something to wear you need to be creative. As long as you bring a few tops and different pairs of shortswith you, you should be safe. White and black are the easiest colours and they work great with prints and other shades.

If you want to choose the right outfits, keep in mind your destination. By the pool you can wear your favourite swimsuit and use a cute cover-up when heading off to a restaurantbuffet. When you’re on shore ready for a sightseeing trip, choose something comfortable and trendy.

A pair of sandals and a maxi skirt can be a great fit. If you’re planning to have lunch in one of the local restaurants, go for a summer dress and a stylish hat. Complete the look with trendy mirror sunglasses and you’re ready to win overthe hearts of some of your fellow cruisers.

Cruises usually have various events during evening hours and the dress code can be determined according to the character of the occasion. This usually means elegant attire and a classy look.

Here you can be creative. Try a traditional black dress, a chic patterned playsuit or a stunning maxi dress that will draw everyone’s attention. Play with colours and prints and don’t be too shy to wear all the new outfits you bought. After all, you’re on vacation.

Bring Your Favourite Cosmetics

While on-board you will find a lot of stores with great products but don’t just assume all your favourite cosmetics will be there -if you’re totally addicted to your night cream or a hair conditioner, be sure to bring it with you.

You may also want to pack a high SPF sunscreen and the after sun cooling gel – so in the case of any sunburns you’ll be well prepared.

Don’t Forget the Essentials

When it comes to important things you should probably make a quick checklist. Start with your personal documents and make surethat nothing is missing or expired. Bring your camera, a phone charger and a credit card, if you’re planning to use them.

Extensions cords can also be very helpful if you want to straighten your hair, listen to music and charge your camera at the same time. Most importantly remember to leave some extra space in your suitcase for souvenirs and gifts for your friends and family.

If it’s your first cruise vacation make sure you start packing early and plan everything ahead. If you’re going with your friends, call them and double check you’re not missing anything important.
